*Coddiwomple: “to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination." We forgot to tell you about the people we met in the hot tub in Quebec.  Two couples from Australia who were planning to see CANADA in seven weeks.  They flew to Vancouver, stayed one night and then flew to Halifax and rented two RVs for their adventure.  I'm mentioning this because while chatting we got some really good info from them.  We have been considering a cruise that circumnavigates Australia in 31 days - from mid December to mid January.  They were aghast when we mentioned this trip.  All four agreed that traveling to northern Australia in the summer was not a good idea.  They told us it gets incredibly hot and the humidity is brutal - "Don't go then!" they said.  We'll look at other options now.   *Coddiwomple: “to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination." Selfie on the Parcours des Antes -  The first leg of our trip (most of June) was planned for visiting family and friends and riding bike trails we enjoy.  We also decided to travel slowly this trip.  To us that means we'll be staying a minimum of three nights in each place to allow us time to be tourists and to do regular stuff like shopping, laundry and relaxing.  It also means that we aren't piling on the kms each day, so many stops for longer times. After Peterborough, we meandered down the road towards Ottawa.  We stopped to have a quick visit with our daughter Amie who along with her partner, Mitch, just purchased a farm property near Tweed.  We were able to have cofftea, donuts and a brief tour of the new abode.  Exciting.  They already have plans for an RV electric outlet.  Yay.  We hope to stop in on the way back and see what changes have happene...

Bellwood and Peterborough Our camp at Highland Pines Campground, Lake Belwood. We like this camp as it is close to home, close to the Elora Cataract Trailway, a good place to shake down the trailer after a long winter and a nice atmosphere.  We can ride our bikes on 46 km of rail trail. The section we were in is for transient campers (overnighters and short term).  The bulk of their three gated camps are long term/seasonal.  Like I say a nice (but not inexpensive) camp. On the first and second day, I (Jerry) had some minor maintenance to do.  We had a peaceful and restful sleep first night.  On day two, we had to return to Guelph briefly for a meeting (Elizabeth) and pick up some forgotten items at home (duh).  Then we had  some relaxing in the gravity chairs and  a nice dinner (courtesy of Angelinos and Zehrs). On Wednesday June 3, three days into our trip we noticed a CBC news article about the possibility that Marine Atlantic employees might be...
